More than 50 unaccompanied minor migrants who vanished not long after reaching the UK and while being looked after by government agencies are still missing, according to information acquired.

Numerous of the missing children entered in small boats or hidden in the backs of vehicles and are presumed to have been seized by traffickers. This region is frequently the area where they initially reach.

Government Figures Shows Disturbing Totals

Publicly available records has registered 345 children vanishing from their area, with 56 of those yet to be located.

Between 2021 and 2023, when temporary accommodations for children operated combined with hotels in different regions, 132 children disappeared from the accommodations. From this group, 108 were later found but 24 are yet to be found.

From 2020 and August 2025, 213 children disappeared from care facilities for such children, with 182 found and 32 still missing.

Nationality Breakdown of Vanished Minors

In both cases, youths of Albanian origin were the most numerous nationality to disappear, accounting for 50% the total from the facilities, 68, and more than a quarter from the care facilities, 65.

The subsequent biggest nationalities to have disappeared from the two settings are Afghan nationals then Iranians.
