President Trump Calls Relatives of Attacked Military Members to the White House
President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.
He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Details on the Heartbreaking Event
Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.
Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.
Presidential Invitation
The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”
Community Support
Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.
Both they had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.
Remembering Beckstrom
“She was the individual that educators desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to assist people.”
Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.
Legal Actions and Government Adjustments
Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.
The incident caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and cease issuing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.
Status of Andrew Wolfe
The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.
He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Morrisey mentioned on television.
The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to Wolfe’s family.
Memory of the Fallen Soldier
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
