Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

US performer Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
